At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

The Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS) team contributes to the improvement and troubleshooting of our customers' trains in service. Typical projects range from troubleshooting and problem correction to obsolescence management, including functional enhancements. The TCMS includes an onboard application and a ground application: The onboard part acquires train data, applies control rules and activates the outputs required for train operation. It also collects numerous train status indicators that are transmitted to the ground software via wireless links. The ground application receives, processes, archives and makes this data available for consultation. This data is used for efficient train operations, as well as for preventive and corrective maintenance.
