Coordinate patient appointments and travel as a Medical Unit Clerk supporting acute care and emergency services at All Nations' Healing Hospital. Work with Nursing and Physicians.
This temporary full-time position provides reception and clerical support under the Nursing Supervisor's direction.
The Unit Clerk helps maintain patient care across Acute Care, Health Information Management, and other departments.
Duties include handling calls, processing physician orders, and preparing documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Book emergency surgery, laboratory, and external appointments
- Coordinate patient travel for appointments and transfers
- Process physician orders and forward requisitions
- Take messages, direct calls, and provide information
- Enter data and prepare reports and letters
Requirements
- Knowledge of First Nations culture and traditions
- Basic medical terminology is an asset
- Education and experience combination will be considered
- Ability to provide reception and clerical support
- Ability to file, photocopy, fax, email, and collate
