The Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences is looking for a postdoctoral researcher (m/f) to join our Ultrarelativistic Heavy-Ion Physics group. Our group has been studying the properties of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), a hot and dense state of nuclear matter produced in nucleus-nucleus collisions at the RHIC accelerator at BNL and the LHC at CERN, for many years.
The successful candidate will join research carried out within our participation in the ALICE experiment at the LHC. In addition to data analysis, our group is involved in the upgrade of the ALICE ITS3 inner tracking detector for LHC Run 4 and in the preparation of the future ALICE3 experiment, which will replace the current ALICE experiment after 2030.
