The Part-Time Academic Technologist provides technical and instructional support for the Outdoor Adventure program at Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus. Working closely with faculty and program delivery partners, the incumbent supports the planning, coordination and delivery of practical skills training and outdoor learning activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and maintaining equipment
- Setting up instructional activities
- Demonstrating technical skills
- Providing individual support to students
- Assisting faculty with skills assessments and evaluations
- Supporting equipment inventory, inspection, maintenance and safety procedures
- Coordinating with external partners and supporting industry and community relationships
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) year diploma in outdoor training/outdoor education
- Possess wilderness First Aid certification
- Minimum three (3) years experience working in the field for the specific program of study
- Experience working in an adult learning environment
Anticipated Weekly Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 8 hours per day.
This position requires regular on-site work at Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus.
