This casual relief Unit Clerk supports a multidisciplinary team across an eight-bed Medical Surgical unit, 15-bed Long-Term Care unit, Emergency Department, and IV clinic. The work includes patient records, reception, physician orders, and scheduling. Exceptional communication, multitasking, and critical thinking are required for this administrative healthcare position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate communication among professionals, departments, patients, and families
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records
- Greet and direct visitors, patients, and health professionals
- Transcribe and process physician orders
- Schedule patient tests and treatments as required
Requirements:
- Grade 12 completion or equivalent
- Accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training
- Exceptional communication skills and multitasking ability
- Good critical thinking skills
- Satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search
