As a Unit Clerk, you will support efficient communication among health professionals, departments, patients, and families. Administrative duties include reception, visitor direction, patient records, physician orders, and scheduling tests or treatments. The position supports the Acute unit and includes casual or relief employment with day and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate communication among health professionals, departments, patients, and families
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information throughout administrative activities
- Greet and direct visitors, patients, and health professionals
- Maintain patient records and charts accurately
- Transcribe orders and schedule tests or treatments
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course
- Equivalent training program may be accepted
- Satisfactory criminal record check or Vulnerable Sector Search
- Ongoing duty to disclose charges or convictions
