The South Health Campus (SHC) is more than just a hospital. It is a campus environment and includes inpatient, outpatient, and wellness services. We have four key pillars of service which guide the delivery of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation.

The Speech Language Pathology (SLP) team provides services to the Ambulatory Neurology clinics as well as the inpatient acute care units. The current caseload for this position is supporting the adult population within our Ambulatory Neurology Clinics, with limited inpatient coverage as required. The ambulatory Neurology clinics include the Neuromuscular, ALS, General Neurology, Neuro Cognitive, Epilepsy, Stroke Prevention, Neuro Vestibular, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimmunology, Movement Disorders, and FND clinics.

Under general supervision from the Allied Health Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients referred to the service as well as development, implementation and evaluation of individual and group treatment programs according to professional practice standards. The SLP may also participate in program evaluation, continuing education, peer evaluation and student supervision. There is a large Allied Health presence in the Neurology clinics at SHC, which provides a unique opportunity for staff to work in interdisciplinary teams. The ability to demonstrate accountability, collaborate effectively, and maintain a continuous learning mindset is essential. Strong skills in communication, self-management and initiative are vital to success in this role.
