Support Labour/Delivery and Postpartum units as a Unit Clerk at Red Deer Regional Hospital, using communication and administrative skills across rotating shifts.
This temporary, part-time position supports efficient inpatient-unit operations and communication among health professionals, departments, patients, and families. You will assist nursing, medical, and other staff with administrative and procedural work while maintaining patient-information confidentiality. The position also provides orientation and training to new Unit Clerks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication among professionals, departments, patients, and families
- Provide reception, greeting, and visitor direction
- Maintain patient records and charts confidentially
- Transcribe and process physician orders
- Schedule patient tests and treatments
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent completion
- Accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training
- Proficient written and spoken English
- Strong organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities
