The IAM Engineering team is part of Cloud Technology Group, which delivers cutting-edge cloud solutions to the market. We design, implement, deploy and operate the Cloud IAM platform, with a primary mission to enable customers the best IAM experience and features while also making it easy for product teams to integrate in a seamless manner.
As a Senior II Software Engineer, you will join a team of software engineers and architects. Your team will enhance IAM core services and will design and develop new features. This requires a mindset of building resilient, fault-tolerant software to run at five 9's availability and high levels of performance and reliability, in both centralized and regionally deployed architectures.
As a Senior II Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and performant solutions
- Building reliable and regionally deployed IAM systems that are fault-tolerant
- Building, integrating, supporting and improving IAM services on the Akamai Compute Platform
- Designing and developing tools to make the deployed software operate seamlessly
- Researching new technologies as they emerge for improving the IAM experience and features at Akamai
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Have 5+ years of experience with Python or Java
- Have extensive experience developing software in a Linux environment
- Have a track record of delivering reliable and secure software
- Possess solid knowledge of IAM technologies
- Have experience working in an enterprise environment and tools, such as GIT, JIRA, and Jenkins

Compensation: Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 120,400 - 216,600 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications.
