Position Summary
Install electrical systems in new and existing buildings, including retrofit projects in a construction environment.
Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environments, hazardous materials, moderate physical duties, and working at heights.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations.
- Cut, bend, thread, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
- Install wire through conduits and ceiling spaces.
- Install, replace, and repair electrical equipment.
- Splice, join, and connect wire components to form complete control systems.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform tasks in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
- Some after-hours and weekend work may be required.
Qualifications
- Completion of Pre-Apprenticeship program.
- Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
- Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute precision work.
- Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Must have own hand tools; power tools will be provided.
