Support meal preparation at AgeCare Mount Ida Mews in Salmon Arm using food safety and institutional kitchen skills. This regular part-time schedule runs afternoons.
The Cook's Helper assists the Cook in a healthcare environment, following production schedules, standardized recipes, portions, and procedures. The work supports resident diet modifications, meal service, sanitation, and quality standards. Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items according to schedules and standardized recipes
- Assist with beverage service, plating, clearing, and dining-room cleaning
- Prepare regular and modified foods for resident diets
- Maintain and sanitize work areas and kitchen equipment
- Follow food handling, temperature, quality, and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Two years' Cook or Assistant experience in healthcare
- Food Safe Certification Level 1
- Certification in a nationally recognized food service safety program
- Experience operating specified kitchen equipment
- High school graduation or equivalent preferred
