Lead community engagement and project communications for Aecon’s YNSE infrastructure work in North York, using strong stakeholder relations skills. Reporting to the Communications and Community Engagement Director, the Communications Specialist supports approved communication and engagement activities. The work includes maintaining client relationships, engaging residents and businesses, and coordinating public consultation. Infrastructure experience is considered an asset. Key Responsibilities:
Develop proactive engagement initiatives along the YNSE corridor Respond professionally to community inquiries and construction issues Coordinate meetings, open houses, and stakeholder working groups Participate in construction liaison committees and public engagement activities Lead canvassing, business outreach, and stakeholder engagement Requirements:
Degree or diploma in communications, public relations, or journalism Minimum three years of related experience Strong written and oral communications skills Microsoft Office proficiency; Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva considered assets Valid driver’s license, security clearance, and background checks required Bring organized communication, public consultation, and stakeholder relationship skills to Aecon’s YNSE community engagement work.
