As Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will report to the Chief Steward while overseeing Housekeeping and Laundry management. The position requires leadership, organization, communication, and knowledge of Property Manager System or Opera. You will support safe, efficient operations and maintain Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards. The role includes collaboration with hotel departments, committees, local laundry partners, and the Director, Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage departmental payroll and expenses within budget guidelines
- Oversee recruitment, succession planning, and colleague relationships
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and preventative maintenance programs
- Advance continuous improvement across GOP, EES, VOG, and LQA
- Implement environmental initiatives and identify new opportunities
Requirements:
- Two to three years of senior housekeeping leadership experience
- Leadership, development, and delegation skills for large teams
- Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- University degree or Hotel Management Diploma preferred
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
