Lead high-volume purchasing for PME Inc.’s heavy civil construction projects, using supplier negotiation and procurement planning across multiple active projects. As Purchasing Lead within the EllisDon group, you will coach purchasers and lead the full purchasing cycle. Your work spans requisition review, budget evaluation, supplier quotes, purchase orders, expediting, delivery coordination, and issue resolution. You will align procurement with project schedules and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and develop a team of purchasers
- Evaluate requisitions, budgets, quotes, and supplier awards
- Track orders, expedite deliveries, and resolve issues
- Identify procurement needs and reduce field-operation delays
- Negotiate pricing, terms, rebates, and delivery schedules
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in supply chain or related discipline
- Five to eight years of purchasing experience
- Three to five years within construction industry
- Experience supporting self-performing heavy civil projects
- Strong negotiation, analytical, planning, and communication skills
- Bring construction procurement leadership, supplier management, and purchasing expertise to PME Inc.’s heavy civil project operations.
