This role is a chance to become a true generalist, with legal work spanning commercial real estate, corporate and M&A, employment, corporate governance, intellectual property, and regulatory/compliance matters. You will provide strategic legal advice, manage and train junior team members, and build and implement systems and efficiencies across the legal function.
What You’ll Do

- Oversee regulatory matters and coordinate with the dental practice community to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including privacy, marketing, and dental regulations.
- Assist on M&A transactions, including supporting acquisition activity, drafting acquisition documents, and overseeing post-closing integration.
- Manage external legal counsel as required and communicate advice clearly to business departments and key stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on key legal risks and the implications of business strategies and initiatives.
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and legal staff, providing regular feedback, coaching, and support for their development.
- Drive continuous improvement of internal legal processes, templates, and playbooks to build systems and efficiencies.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs and best practices for internal legal and business teams.
- Help shape the evolution of legal operations and build a high-performing, collaborative, business-enabling legal department.
What You Bring

- 5+ years of call, with broad corporate/commercial experience gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Proven expertise across broad legal disciplines (e.g., corporate law, commercial contracting, employment law, real estate, litigation, IP, and regulatory matters).
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and people management abilities.
- Business-oriented mindset with the ability to assess legal risk in a commercial context.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail, with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Strong project management skills; able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-deal-flow environment and comfortable owning a transaction end-to-end.
- Confident, highly driven, and team-oriented, with a bias to action and a strong client service orientation.
- Ability to practice law in French would be a major asset.
